Grow bags arrive at the greenhouse as a finished system: compressed substrate slab, UV-treated co-extruded film, planting and drainage holes already cut. Lay, drip, expand, plant. The standard bag expands to 100 × 18 × 14 cm, roughly 25 litres of substrate per slab from a 2.8 kg dry fill; other dimensions are produced against order.
The blend is the specification that matters most, and it is yours to set. The standard fill is 60 % dust-free coir peat to 40 % husk chips of 6–7 mm; 100 % peat, 80:20, 70:30 and 50:50 blends are available, washed or buffered, with hole patterns matched to your planting density and drip layout. Every blend batch is lab-verified for EC and pH before filling.

Substrate blend
Slabs can be pressed in any peat-to-chip ratio. These are the ratios most often requested; tell us the crop and irrigation strategy and we will recommend one.

What size is the standard coco grow bag?
The standard bag expands to 100 × 18 × 14 cm, giving about 25 litres of substrate per slab. Dry weight is 2.8 kg ± 10 %. Other slab sizes are produced against order.
What is the standard blend, and what other ratios are available?
The standard fill is 60 % dust-free coir peat and 40 % husk chips of 6 to 7 mm. We also press 100 % peat, 80:20, 70:30 and 50:50 blends, washed or buffered.
Which peat-to-chip ratio suits my crop?
60:40 is the usual choice for tomato, cucumber, pepper, eggplant and cut flowers. 80:20 suits strawberry, leafy crops and cooler climates, 70:30 is the common blend for greenhouse vegetables, and 50:50 suits crops needing strong root oxygenation. Tell us the crop and irrigation strategy and we will recommend one.
Can planting holes and drainage cuts be customised?
Yes. Plant holes and drain cuts are made at the factory, and the pattern, hole shape and slab size can all be set to your planting density and drip layout. The film can also be printed with your brand.
What film is used for the bag?
Bags are made from 350-gauge LDPE film, black inside and white outside, UV treated for 2 years.
How many grow bags fit in a container?
A pallet holds 450 slabs. A 40 ft high-cube container takes 20 pallets, or 9,000 slabs. Trial pallets are available for crop trials, and exact quantities are confirmed with each quotation.
