Also known as 5 kg cocopeat blocks, coir pith blocks.
The 5 kg block is the standard commercial format of coco peat: washed coir pith from Sri Lankan husk, screened to under 12 mm and compressed for economical freight. Hydrate it to produce a low-EC, free-draining growing medium, or the base for your own potting mix.
Each block expands to at least 12 litres per kilogram, 60 litres or more per block, with higher-purity grades reaching 15 to 18 litres per kilogram. The low-EC washed grade is made for horticulture; a high-EC grade is available for soil amendment, landscaping and bedding. Husk chips or fibre can be blended in to order.

What size and weight is a 5 kg coco peat block?
Each block measures 30 × 30 × 15 cm and weighs 5 kg ± 200 g. It is made from 100 % coir pith screened to under 12 mm and compressed 5 : 1.
How much growing medium does one block make?
A block expands to at least 12 litres per kilogram, which is 60 litres or more per block. Higher-purity grades reach 15 to 18 litres per kilogram.
What are the EC, pH and moisture of the blocks?
The low-EC washed grade is under 0.5 mS/cm, measured 1:5 v/v, with a pH of 5.5 to 6.5 and moisture under 20 % at dispatch. A high-EC grade is available for soil amendment, landscaping and bedding.
How many blocks fit in a container?
A pallet holds 240 blocks. A 40 ft high-cube container takes 20 pallets, or 4,800 blocks, and 5,120 blocks when loose-loaded without pallets. Single pallets are available for trials and smaller orders.
Can you supply blocks to my own specification?
Yes. Husk chips or fibre can be blended in to order, and sizes, mixes and EC grades can be produced to your specification. Blocks ship unwrapped as standard, with shrink wrap or a printed sleeve on request.
What are the shipping terms and lead time?
We quote FOB Colombo, or CIF and DAP to your port or warehouse. Lead time is 3 to 5 weeks from order confirmation.
